Kletta is currently supporting Cash Basis accounting only.
‘Cash basis’ is a preferred way to work out your income and expenses for self-employed. With cash basis, income and expenses are recorded only when you’ve actually received and paid the due money.
If you run a small business, cash basis accounting may suit you better than traditional accounting.
This is because you only need to declare money when it comes in and out of your business. At the end of the tax year, you won’t have to pay Income Tax on money you didn’t receive in your accounting period.
You can use cash basis if you:
run a small self-employed business, for example: sole trader or partnership
have a turnover of £150,000 or less a year
If you have more than one business, you must use cash basis for all your businesses. The combined turnover from your businesses must be less than £150,000.
Kletta shall be expanded to support traditional accounting and Limited company in the near future.

Your Tax estimate is only as accurate as of the information you input to the app. By completing the Tax Profile, you are helping Kletta to have a better estimate of your tax position and hence you can have a better overview of your self-employed business.
Gone are the days of headache-causing self-assessment tax return deadlines. With Kletta’s automated bookkeeping, you can now know a rough estimate of your tax liability up-to-date and how much you actually earn after tax.
Please bear in mind that your tax estimate is only as accurate as of the information you input to the app and might be different from the HMRC final figure as every taxpayers' circumstances are different, but it can be served as a quick and general overview of your tax position.
Kletta is designed to be compatible with Income Tax MTD, which means Kletta can keep your records and submit returns to HMRC via their Application Programming Interface. We are working hard with HMRC on final testings to have Kletta fully integrated.
