FAQ

What type of businesses I need to support?

You need to be a non-VAT registered Sole Trader, and for those filing a Self-Assessment Tax Return through the App, you need to be filing in the UK. We are working hard to extend our support for those needing to be VAT registered, and for the owners of Limited Companies.

Which accounting method does Kletta support

Kletta is currently supporting Cash Basis accounting only.

‘Cash basis’ is a preferred way to work out your income and expenses for self-employed. With cash basis, income and expenses are recorded only when you’ve actually received and paid the due money.

Why use cash basis?
Who can use cash basis?

If you run a small business, cash basis accounting may suit you better than traditional accounting.

This is because you only need to declare money when it comes in and out of your business. At the end of the tax year, you won’t have to pay Income Tax on money you didn’t receive in your accounting period.

How can I generate and send invoices?

You can use cash basis if you:

  • run a small self-employed business, for example: sole trader or partnership

  • have a turnover of £150,000 or less a year

  • If you have more than one business, you must use cash basis for all your businesses. The combined turnover from your businesses must be less than £150,000.

Kletta shall be expanded to support traditional accounting and Limited company in the near future.
